If you haven’t had a DOT physical examination before, there are some things you’ll want to know. Keep reading to learn what to expect from a DOT physical examination, and what you should bring with you to your appointment.

When you get to your DOT physical examination appointment, you’ll want to have a few things ready. Your examiner will need your current driver’s license, change of address card if applicable, and current medical card.

If you have any medical issues, there are some extra things to bring. If you are currently being treated for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart-related issues, sleep apnea, require glasses, or require a hearing device, you’ll want to bring documentation to make the experience faster.

Being on prescriptions is okay, but you’ll need to bring a list of all medications you are currently taking to your DOT physical examination appointment. Also include the provider’s information on this list in case your examiner needs to reach out to them.
